Hospitality – 20/12/2021

Throughout this journey, I have experienced so much warm hospitality that I never expected. Whether in Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, or Croatia.

Some people spontaneously invited me for a meal or a coffee. Others offered me a proper roof over my head or a safe place to pitch my tent. I was able to spend nights in a tiny wooden cabin, an oil workshop, a church, and even on someone’s couch. The people I met showed me their hometowns, gave me great tips on what to see, and helped me plan my route. They provided me with food for the journey and cooked for me. They shared fascinating stories about their lives, their travels, and their experiences. They offered help and told me that I could always contact them later if I ever needed anything.

Small angels with the biggest hearts are everywhere. And it is always fascinating to see how much joy they find in helping others.
